WE’VE WON!  And District 7 and Salt Lake City have won, too.

Following a nail-biting election return and recount, the final tally was 1,947 to 1,935 votes — a win by the narrowest of margins, only 12 votes. The bottom line is EVERY VOTE MATTERED! Thank you for your support and for your vote of confidence.

I acknowledge the great campaign effort of my opponent, Lisa Adams, who cares as deeply as so many of us do about our community. I’m sure she will continue to be involved in important community efforts.

What an amazing experience it will be to serve another term on the city council. I have enjoyed collaborating and serving with hundreds of caring and engaged community members on a broad range of issues, initiatives, projects and solutions to make Salt Lake City safe, healthy, beautiful and prosperous.

Our “Stepping Up & Stepping Out” grassroots campaign throughout District 7 has been so rewarding. The response to what we’ve accomplished over the past term is heartwarming. I am energized with new ideas from residents and businesses I have spoken with throughout District 7 almost every day over the past four years, as well as what I’ve heard walking door-to-door throughout the campaign. I will continue to be open, accessible, and most of all, accountable.
